From Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Stockholm City
Travelling in Sweden is very easy. Most people speak fluent English, and cards are the main payment method.
Getting from Arlanda to Stockholm City
There are several ways to travel from the airport to the city:
1. Cheapest Option – SL Local Transport
~43 SEK / ~4 €
Take an SL local bus to Märsta and change to the Pendeltåg (commuter train) to Stockholm City.
Travel time: about 1.5 hours
Note: The airport is large, and it takes around 20 minutes to walk to the bus stop.
Tickets: Buy via the SL app or tap your card directly on the bus.
This is the most budget-friendly option.
2. Bus (FlixBus or Flygbussarna)
75–150 SEK / 7–15 €
A more convenient option is taking a direct airport bus to the city.
Travel time: 35–50 minutes, depending on traffic.
The bus stop is about a 25–30 minute walk from arrivals.
Tickets can be purchased online, but we recommend buying one after you arrive in the arrivals hall.
A good balance between price and convenience.
3. Taxi (Uber or Bolt)
Approximately 500–700 SEK per car
The easiest door-to-door option.
Price depends on demand and time of day.
You need the Uber or Bolt app to order.
Convenient, especially if travelling with luggage or in a group.
4. Arlanda Express (Fastest Option)
~350 SEK / 35 €
The fastest but most expensive option.
Travel time: 18–20 minutes.
Very easy to find, as it is heavily advertised inside the airport.
Best choice if you want the quickest and simplest transfer.
